I had to get a strong uninstall program to get rid of it.

The one thing I did notice is that when I tried to install cs5 it would not let me uninstall cs4 until I registered it. You need to block you computer to not allow Adobe to connect to the internet to get updates. Don't want to chance it.(not so much that the police will come to your door, but that the software might get crippled by a security check you are unaware of.) I would not chance updates, but if you look around you can get hacked updates that don't have the security checks. I have installed cs4 a few times with the key, but never registered it.

Software is cracked in various ways, sometimes it is by figuring out the algorithm for the key generator, sometimes it is replacing application files with hacked files that bypass the software's security checks. Sellers just torrent it, but Adobe is big on tracking down pirates so it is software I would not download from my home, (don't even think about work) unless you use a proxie or vpn.(or usenet) You can't register it either way usually.So did you get a valid license key? Doesn't it try to connect to the web to register upon installation? What about patches, just SOL?In my case, it does have a static key. I actually bought the Adobe master suite from some guy off of craigslist. Discounts if you get three or more and everything is always guaranteed to work so email me if you're interested!
